Police Investigating Weekend Shooting in Brooklyn Park

Brooklyn Park police are investigating a Saturday night shooting. Officers were investigating a report of a loud party in the 7900 block of Beard Avenue North about half an hour before midnight. While police were observing the party disband, gunshots broke out a block north of them on Lad Parkway.

According to a police statement, officers “moved on foot” to the shooting scene, where they found what they describe as a juvenile victim with a non-threatening gun shot wound in the leg. That person was taken to the hospital. Hennepin County’s crime scene unit investigated the scene.

Brooklyn Center and Osseo police also took part in the response. No word from police on suspects or the cause of the shooting.
