Police: Gunshot Goes Through Brooklyn Park Apartment Unit Ceiling
Brooklyn Park police are investigating a case of a gunshot fired inside an apartment building late Wednesday night.
Officers were called to the Park Haven Apartments, located in the 6900 block of 786th Ave N., shortly after 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
When officers arrived, they found evidence of gunshot fired through the ceiling of a third-floor apartment unit. Police say they cleared the apartment building in their search for a male suspect.
During the search, officers spotted the suspect running from the area of the apartment building. Police say they arrested the man a short distance later.
Brooklyn Park police say they found ammunition on the suspect, who was arrested for several weapons-related offenses. Despite conducting a K9 and drone search, police say officers were unable to locate the firearm used in the ordeal.
Charges in the case were pending Thursday.
