Pocket Square Cocktail Lounge Opens in New Hope
After a lengthy delay, the first microdistillery in the northwest suburbs has finally opened. The owners of Pocket Square Cocktail Lounge in New Hope want the establishment to become a destination spot.
The owners grew up in Crystal and wanted a business close to home. They opened their doors on April 29 in the former Mountain Mudd coffee shop.
“It’s a first in New Hope. It’s actually one of the first in the metro area,” said co-owner Andrea Davis.
Days says the name Pocket Square comes from sophistication and class. Think James Bond.

The COVID-19 pandemic created roadblocks for the family-owned cocktail business.
“We got delayed quite a bit. We were hoping for this time last year, and then with all the shutdowns and everything, it just kept pushing us back,” explained Davis.
But that gave them more time to improve on the in-house infused vodkas and other signature drinks made with Minnesota fresh produce.
Currently, there are many drinks with berries and summer fruits. They distill spirits Sunday through Wednesday in small batches to supply the cocktail lounge. Vodka is in production.
The owners hope customers will find the atmosphere relaxing and inviting.
“Just come in and have a couple of drinks with us and enjoy yourself, and that’s what we’re hoping to bring to this area,” said Davis.
