Plymouth Prepares for Drive-Through Veteran’s Day Breakfast
Preparation is underway in Plymouth for a big event this week to thank local veterans for their service.
“There was a lot of military in my family, so it means a lot to me to be able to do anything I can for them,” said Donna Dimich of Plymouth.
Dimich is part of a group of volunteers — consisting of wives and widows of local veterans — who gathered at Plymouth City Hall Monday morning.
The group put together gift bags containing thank you notes, artwork, and other small gifts from various community organizations.
About 240 local veterans will receive these gift bags Wednesday morning. Some will get the bags during a drive-through breakfast event, while those living in senior living homes will have the bags delivered to them.
“Plymouth loves supporting the community and we know that veterans have done so much to support us and serve us in our community,” said Meghan Constantini, a recreation supervisor for the city of Plymouth. “And so it’s just been an incredible way to give back to people that have given so much for us.”
Wednesday’s drive-through breakfast runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Plymouth Veterans Memorial near City Hall.
You have to be a veteran to participate, but registration for the event is now closed.
