Plymouth Middle School Students Show Creativity in the Arts
Plymouth Middle School has a robust arts program and teachers are proud to show it off.
“We do not lower our expectations [in academics], but today I wanted to highlight the wonderful things our students are doing and the creativity they are doing and how that motivates them to come to school every day,” says Cheri Kulland, Plymouth Middle School Principal. “There’s just so much excitement when they come in the door, and they are excited to be here. I know some schools struggle with attendance, but we do not. Kids want to be here and that’s what makes us special.”
Teachers motivate students to master new skills and use creativity in arts and in music.
“We do what we can to improve the skills they have, but also to amplify their voice,” says Janine Gagnon, who teaches a special vocal group called Sola Voce. “The arts have always been a strong tradition in our district.”
Plymouth Middle School is part of the Robbinsdale School District. Plymouth Middle School serves about 1,000 students at its campus, which is right off Highway 169 in Plymouth.
