Pancheros Opens New Location in Brooklyn Park
The growing area near Highway 610 in Brooklyn Park has something new to celebrate. Pancheros Mexican Grill held a ribbon cutting for its fifth Twin Cities location last Thursday. The fast-casual chain touts fresh ingredients like salsa made in-house and hand-tossed tortillas made every morning,
The company’s directer of operations says its family atmosphere has helped meet the demand for workers.
“The one issue where we had some concern is it’s been pretty busy,” said Craig Noah, director of operations for Pancheros locations in the Twin Cities. “We have needed to bring in some extra people.”
Sixteen employees are on staff at Pancheros, nine of them full time. Noah says because the Brooklyn Park location is a new restaurant, his venue hasn’t been as affected by the lack of food service workers compared to existing restaurants.
According to the most recent job figures from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, the food service sector has a 12 percent job vacancy rate. That’s behind only the retail (13 percent) and health care (18 percent) sectors.
