Osseo Council Member Resigns Due to Move
The Osseo City Council now has a vacant seat.
Ashlee Mueller has resigned from her council role due to a move outside the city.
Mueller spoke about the decision at Monday night’s council meeting calling the last month and a half a “whirlwind.”
“We went from not moving to moving in 45 days,” said Mueller.
Mueller had been appointed to the role after chairing the city’s planning commission. She replaced council member Harold Johnson who resigned. Johnson passed away two months later.
“It has been a very interesting journey,” said Mueller. “It’s something that I urge other residents to be involved, in different committees, because it is truly important to know what goes on.”
Mueller’s resignation is effective May 14.
Interim city administrator and police chief Shane Mikkelson says that the city will be accepting letters of interest for the vacant position until noon on May 22.
