Osseo City Staff in ‘Crisis Mode’ Due to Recent Departures
After experiencing staff turnover in the administrative staff at the city of Osseo, officials say they’re running in “crisis mode.”
Several Osseo city employees have left in the last two months.
Former city administrator Riley Grams resigned in late April. Meanwhile, the city clerk and the community coordinator have also resigned.
Osseo Police Chief Shane Mikkelson is currently serving as interim city administrator in addition to his police role.
He told the city council the clerk’s duties are essential for the upcoming election in November.
“I’d say we’re in a crisis mode right now in that office,” Mikkelson said. “Just because, losing half your staff is pretty significant.”
Mikkelson plans to ask the county and neighboring cities if they’re able to help out while they search for new employees.
“We’re staring to talk about core functions and what we can keep going and what we can’t,” he said. “It’s not the first time I’ve been in crisis mode.”
