New Hope Aquatic Center Opens Saturday
The New Hope Aquatic Center is scheduled to open to the public at 11 a.m. Saturday. With the hot weather, staff expect the new facility to be busy.
The Aquatic Center was finished last year, but the opening was delayed due to COVID-19. The center boasts a zero-entry pool, lazy river feature that’s called a “current channel,” a vortex pool and a 50-meter swim pool as well as diving boards. There’s water slides, drop slides, and a dump bucket in the kiddie pool.
Staff say the center has something for everyone.
“We are extremely excited to have a brand new facility. Everything here is going to benefit the community a little bit better. They are going to come in and have something great to experience,” said Tony Portesan, New Hope recreation facilities supervisor. “It’s supposed to be a warm weekend, so we’re expecting a lot of people going through our gates.”
