A surge of cases is expected after the holidays, due to gatherings and people traveling.
Dr. Frank Rhame with Allina Health says travelers should be tested if they are around vulnerable people.
“It’s important to know the risk of the people you are going to be around,” said Dr. Rhame.”These things are very situational and it really depends on how much risk you have while traveling and how vulnerable the people you are going to be around are.”
Rhame goes on to say that if you are around someone who is 90 and vulnerable, you should take greater precautions than if you are around a healthy individual in his or her 20s.
As far as traveling, Rhame says every small effort to combat COVID, helps.
“I think one of the things you have to realize controlling COVID is a game of inches, it’s not a home run situation. Every little bit we do helps and being careful helps,” said Rhame.
