Maple Grove Woman Killed After Crash with Garbage Truck
A Maple Grove woman has died following injuries sustained in a crash involving a garbage truck Monday afternoon in Minnetonka.
Colleen Lamberton, 78, died in the crash, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed in a report released Tuesday.
The medical examiner says Lamberton died of “complications of multiple blunt force injuries due to vehicle collision.”
Officers responded to the crash just after 3 p.m. Monday on Plymouth Road at Arthur Street, north of Interstate Highway 394. Lamberton was rushed to North Memorial Health Hospital, where she was pronounced dead just after 5:45 p.m., the medical examiner said.
“Officers arrived to find a garbage truck had rolled on its side,” read a release from Minnetonka police.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries, police said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation but Minnetonka police describe the incident as as “accident.”
