Maple Grove Hospital Nurses Consider Unionizing
Nurses from North Memorial Health — Maple Grove Hospital announced they plan to seek union representation from the Minnesota Nurses Association. The nurses filed for an election with the National Labor Relations Board on Dec. 20.
During a news conference last week, a collection of Maple Grove Hospital nurses outlined their decision to seek union support.
They cited reasons including the desire to negotiate employment terms, work conditions and standards for patient care with hospital management.
Nurses at the hospital will ultimately vote on whether they will be represented by the Minnesota Nurses Association. The date of that vote has yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, North Memorial Health provided a statement about the decision:
North Memorial Health received a petition from the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) indicating they filed for an election with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to determine if registered nurses at Maple Grove Hospital wish to be represented by a union.
