Maple Grove’s Scott Hansen Remembered as Comedy Pioneer
Scott Hansen, who is considered one of the founding fathers of Twin Cities comedy, passed away this past weekend after battling several health issues. Hansen lived in Maple Grove and is largely credited with helping establish stand-up comedy in the Twin Cities.
CCX News sat down with Hansen earlier this year to talk about his role and feature in a new book about Twin Cities comedy. See story here.
“It didn’t just happen one day that there were comedy clubs. There were a bunch of people, a small handful of people, rather, that took that and decided to make it their life’s work,” said Hansen.
Hansen passed away Sunday at the age of 66 after battling several health issues.
His daughter, Annemarie, posted on Facebook on Sunday night:
“All the angels in heaven are laughing a little bit louder tonight! This afternoon the Lord took my father, Scott Hansen, home. We are sad to lose him, but so grateful that he’s at peace with God.”
