Maple Grove Man Charged with Attempted Murder, Victim Survives 12 Gunshot Wounds
A Maple Grove man appeared in court Monday accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend right in front of the couple’s 1-year-old child.
Tylynne Wilson, 40, is charged with first-degree and second degree attempted murder.
According to the criminal complaint:
Minneapolis police responded to an apartment on Oct. 10. where they noticed the door was open and appeared to have been kicked in. They soon found a woman lying on the floor in a bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds. The woman’s young child was on the floor next to her. The victim told police that Wilson “kept shooting until he was out of bullets.” Police learned that the suspect had fled the scene.
The woman was rushed to the hospital for life-saving surgery. At the hospital, it was discovered the victim was shot 12 times, the complaint said. The victim was last reported in stable condition.
The victim told police that she heard someone break into her home and ran upstairs into a bedroom. Her 1-year-old daughter was also there when Wilson entered the room and “was excited to see her father and went to stand by him,” the complaint said. Wilson then produced a handgun and began shooting stating that he was going to kill the victim because “she disrespected him.”
The complaint said that the woman and Wilson had been in an argument over the phone before the shooting. Wilson was mad about an Oct. 3 incident in which he had shot at the victim’s current boyfriend multiple times, the complaint said. The boyfriend was struck in the leg and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Wilson is in police custody held on $2 million bail. His next scheduled court hearing is Nov. 22.
