Maple Grove Expects More Med-tech Growth in 2026
Maple Grove City Council members looked backed on 2025, while also shining a light on what to expect in 2026 at its Jan. 5 council meeting.
One of the highlights: expect more growth in the city’s med-tech sector.
“I believe you’re going to continue to see the med-tech business grow in Maple Grove with new buildings, new developments and new jobs coming to town,” said Maple Grove Mayor Mark Steffenson.
The city celebrated the opening of Boston Scientific’s new campus along I-694 last fall. Maple Grove beat out cities in Massachusetts and Georgia for the project. Boston Scientific is also planning an expansion to its campus along Weaver Lake Road.
More than 7,000 Boston Scientific employees will be working in Maple Grove due to the developments, more than any other company in the city.
Another project with med-tech ties is also coming soon. Joe Hogeboom, the city’s community and economic development director, said the second phase of the Minnesota Science and Technology Center, will come up for review at the Jan. 12 Maple Grove Planning Commission meeting. Boston Scientific is the anchor tenant from the first phase of the large development, located northwest of Highway 169 and I-694.

Steffenson also highlighted BioMADE’s $132 million biomanufacturing facility in the works not far from Boston Scientific’s new Arbor Lakes campus. The facility will test products made out of Minnesota-grown crops before full-scale production. Its scheduled to open in 2027.
One other project was recently approved on Dec. 15. The 10th and final building of the Arbor Lakes Business Park, proposed to be roughly 76,000 square feet, would be located on a vacant 4.5-acre parcel southwest of Fountains Drive and Revere Lane.
Steffenson also said to expect further retail and restaurant developments in the city.
One restaurant, Tiffany’s Kitchen & Bar, announced a 2026 opening in a former TGI Friday’s location.
