Man Charged in Park Center Booster Club Theft
The former treasurer of the Park Center Girls Basketball Booster Club is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the organization. Dewitt Davison, 37, of Golden Valley is charged with one count of felony theft.
According to the criminal complaint, the booster club became aware of the theft when the organization received bank notices for insufficient funds. Bank records show that Davison withdrew $12,456.81 without authorization between Feb. 12, 2018 and Aug. 29, 2018.
Officers also obtained bank surveillance photos that showed Davison withdrawing cash from the account on numerous occasions. The transactions included charges to Running Aces Casino, the complaint said.
Davison became treasurer in late 2017. The complaint says he admitted to the theft. Davison told investigators he took the money “due to issues with his marriage and his finances.”
