Life Time Breaks Ground on New Maple Grove Club
Officials from Life Time and the city of Maple Grove on Monday celebrated the start of a development project that’s been years in the making.
Construction on Life Time’s newest luxury club is now underway.
“Today’s groundbreaking reflects Life Time’s confidence in Maple Grove and our shared commitment to creating places where people can live active, healthy and connected lives,” said Mayor Mark Steffenson.
The new club will offer state-of-the-art amenities, including a resort-style pool and beach club, pickleball courts and a full-service spa.
“What you will experience here in Maple Grove is the absolute height of what we’re doing across the country, said John Griffith, Life Time’s senior vice president of real estate. “This is a flagship location — we’re so excited about it.”

Eventually, Life Time plans to build luxury apartments on the site, which is located on about 17.5 acres off of Highway 610 and Interstate 94, near Maple Grove Hospital and Home Depot.
The land became available through a deal between the city and Life Time.
Maple Grove acquired the site for Life Time’s project, spending about $10.9 million in existing capital funds, along with tax abatement special assessment waivers, bringing the value of the deal to $17.5 million.
In exchange, the city will acquire Life Time’s existing club, using it to continue the expansion of the Maple Grove Community Center.
The new Life Time club is expected to open late in 2027.
