Hindu Temple Celebrates Peace, Tranquility at Three-Day Festival
A big festival kicks off at the Hindu Temple of Minnesota in Maple Grove this weekend.
It’s called the Third Triannual Brahmotsavam or “great celebration.” It features food, dance and other festivities. More than 800 people are expected and it’s open to the public.
“This is a celebration of peace, tranquility and welfare of the community,” said Urmila Hejibu, the religious chair. “You are welcome, we have volunteers here who can explain what is going on, how it is and why it is done.”
The festivities run from Friday to Sunday. If you’re interested in learning more about the Hindu Temple of Minnesota they offer open tours of their facility every Saturday and Sunday.
