HCSO: Body Found Near Maple Grove Rest Stop
An investigation is underway into the discovery of a body found near a Maple Grove rest stop.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office says the body was found in a stormwater retention pond near the Elm Creek Rest Area off Interstate 94.
Law enforcement was notified at approximately 3:35 p.m. Saturday when a maintenance worker made the discovery.
As of midday Monday, there were few details about the body found, other than the deceased was of adult age.
In addition to deputies from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Maple Grove Fire Department, Maple Grove Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol also responded.
The identity of the person and cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. The Sheriff’s Office also continues to investigate.
