Golden Valley Resident Rose McGee Receives Facing Race Award
A Golden Valley resident is among the recipients of an award honoring people who strive for justice and equity.
Rose McGee will be honored Thursday with a Facing Race Award. The award is presented by the St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation.
McGee founded a nonprofit called Sweet Potato Comfort Pie.
With her baking skills and the help of volunteers, McGee has delivered more than 4,000 pies across the country, as well as here in the Twin Cities, to help comfort those impacted by racially traumatic events.
