Fire Causes Significant Damage to Plymouth Townhome, Firefighter Taken to Hospital
The Plymouth Fire Department responded to a fire that caused significant damage to a townhome in the northeast part of the city.
Firefighters were called Thursday at about 5:30 p.m. to the Bass Lake Hills townhomes on the 13000 block of 58th Avenue North. The complex has three attached townhomes. Plymouth firefighters received an initial report that it could be a rescue situation.
“Thankfully, the rescues never came to fruition,” said Plymouth Fire Chief Rodger Coppa.
Family members impacted tell CCX News that the fire started in a garage and was contained to one middle unit. Everybody inside made it out safely. However, Coppa says one firefighter had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries after a fall on the ice.
While the townhome is not believed to be a total loss, there was significant damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
