Farmers Kitchen + Bar Food Truck Has New Home at OMNI Brewing
There are few things in life that pair better than burgers and a cold beer. Since June 14, visitors to OMNI Brewing Company in Maple Grove didn’t have to travel far to fulfill that classic craving.
“We’re just doing everything we can to bring good, tasty food out to the people hanging out here at OMNI,” said Hadley McGrath, who manages the Farmers Kitchen + Bar Food Truck.
The restaurant, which is owned by the Minnesota Farmers Union, struck up a partnership to be OMNI’s resident food truck through the end of October, and possibly beyond.
“Any brewery will tell you that people will come and drink more beer if they have some food to kind of keep them going,” McGrath said. “So it was a good partnership and it was definitely mutually beneficial for all of us.”
‘People seem to really like it’
Beer lovers can enjoy a menu consisting of things like burgers, sandwiches, cheese curds and fries. It all may sound like typical bar food, however, the taste is anything but.
“We smash the burger into some onions that kind of steam into it, makes it really good,” McGrath said. “Caramelizes that at the same time.”
The most popular item is the field hand burger featuring wagyu beef, making the meat taste rich and savory.
So far, the food truck residency has been a hit, both with customers and staff members like Presley Charlson.
“We’ve always had different food trucks. Every day we would have a food truck except for Monday, cause we were a little slower,” said Charlson, a bartender at OMNI. “But we would always have ones that canceled on us. So now we have a steady food truck and people seem to really like it. They have great food, great staff, very friendly, and great food all the time.”
Great food, cold drinks, and enough activities on site to keep people entertained. It’s the perfect recipe for a summer night in Minnesota.
“We’ve been busy, so I hope that we keep this partnership going,” Charlson said.
The Farmers Kitchen + Bar Food Truck will take a brief hiatus from Omni in August to set up shop at the Minnesota State Fair.
