Doodle Time: Golden Valley Offers Way To Showcase Creativity
Golden Valley is offering a new way to showcase your creativity.
The city has a collection of old wooden ice rink boards spread out across Gearty Park.
Anyone is free to paint, draw, write or doodle on these boards.

One of the ‘doodleboards’ on display at Gearty Park, located at 3101 Regent Ave N in Golden Valley.
City officials just ask that anyone who creates art to make sure it’s family-friendly and that it doesn’t cover someone else’s work.
“It’s really fun to see, especially when you see cool things like this, or just being represented through the city,” said Golden Valley Recreation Coordinator Kevin Martinez Del Arca. “I feel like the city of Golden Valley has really artistic people. Over at Brookview, we have art displays and showings as well, so it really shows that people do care about art and it’s making an impact here in the city.”
The so-called “doodleboards” will be up through May 8. The city plans to put some of them on display at different parks later this month.
