D’Amico & Sons to Shutter Golden Valley, Edina Restaurants
The two remaining D’Amico & Sons restaurants in the Twin Cities will serve their last meals this spring.
On Thursday, company officials announced plans to shutter their Golden Valley and Edina locations on March 28.
After about 30 years of operations at both restaurants, ownership has decided to not renew their leases.
Officials did not offer further explanation for the closures.
“We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who enjoyed our family’s Italian dishes,” the company wrote in a press release.
At one point, the company ran a 12-restaurant portfolio with locations in the Twin Cities and Naples, Florida.
With the closures, company founders Richard and Larry D’Amico plan to focus on their restaurants in Naples.
Meanwhile, in the Twin Cities metro, longtime partner Paul Smith will lead D’Amico Hospitality, the company’s catering business.
The company says it “operates the largest portfolio of exclusive venues in the local market.”
In 2019, D’Amico Hospitality took over the city-owned clubhouse restaurant at Edinburgh USA in Brooklyn Park.
They mutually split ways in 2024 with the city citing “poor financial performance.”
It’s now called Tavern at Edinburgh and is run by Jason Tollette.
