Crystal’s La Michoacana Rose To Offer New State Fair Treat
The Great Minnesota Get-Together begins Aug. 21 and Crystal’s La Michoacana Rose ice cream shop will be there to sell a variety of frozen treats.
That will include a brand-new flavor this year.
“Oreo, bubble gum, pickle lemonade and mango con tajin,” said La Michoacana Rose owner Elizabeth Raygoza, as she rattled off the names of this year’s Minnesota State Fair flavors.
La Michoacana Rose sells Mexican-style ice pops — also known as paletas — at the fair.

La Michoacana Rose will sell four flavors of paletas at the State Fair: bubble gum, Oreo, pickle lemonade and mango con tajin.
The new flavor is mango con tajin. It’s a frozen mango treat on a stick mixed in with a Mexican seasoning made from dried chili peppers, lime and salt.
“It’s a mangoñada on a stick. A mangoñada is obviously our best seller here, so I’m really excited that we’ll finally have that at the State Fair,” said Raygoza. “I know that previously we were a little nervous to bring that in, just because of the spice, but I know it will be really popular and people will really love that.”
This is La Michoacana Rose’s third year at the fair. You can find the paletas at the Hamline Church Dining Hall.
