Crystal Council Member Nancy LaRoche Announces Resignation
Crystal Council member Nancy LaRoche announced on social media and her website Tuesday that she will resign from her elected position after accepting a position and purchasing a home outside of Crystal.
She’s served on the council for six years representing Section 1, which is Wards 1 and 2.
LaRoche said that she had two “unplanned and unexpected opportunities come up” in January. She’s lived in Crystal for 27 years.
LaRoche will resign her council seat at the end of February 2023. LaRoche’s council term expires on Dec. 31, 2024.
By law, the city council will declare the vacancy, which could come at its next regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Two unplanned and unexpected (but great) opportunities came to me in January – which means I am resigning my #CrystalMN city council seat. 27 years here, and I’m leaving with awesome memories! https://t.co/9TDQG29EOn pic.twitter.com/tFkCc6cqFe
