Cooper High School Students Serenaded on First Day of In-Person Learning
Students in the Jazz band serenaded Cooper High School students as they returned to in-person learning on Thursday.
“It’s been over a year since students have been back in our building. So we view it as a grand re-opening kickoff,” said principal Frank Herman on Thursday morning. “We want to show that we missed students and staff here in the building.”
About 60 percent of students opted for in-person learning to finish up the school year.
Jazz band members were also excited to be playing for an audience.
“I missed playing with people,” said one student musician named Emma Borisevich. “It’s a good feeling and there’s nothing like it.”
Cooper High School students kept the student newspaper going during the pandemic. Read that story here.
