Complaint: Brooklyn Center Police Arrest Suspect Who Pulls Out Gun
Brooklyn Center police arrested a suspect who pulled out a gun from his waistband, according to criminal charges filed Tuesday.
Justice Valentino, 28, is charged with illegal possession of a firearm due to previous felony convictions.
According to the criminal complaint:
Police initially noticed Valentino swerving between east and westbound lanes of traffic on a motorized bicycle near 58th and Irving avenues. When police tried to stop him, he fled.
Officers eventually caught up to the suspect several blocks later. At that point, the complaint says a struggle ensued with Valentino pulling out this gun.
Officers were able to eventually get out the weapon out of his hand and make an arrest.
“BC officers arrested a felon in possession of a firearm, the firearm serial number was obliterated which is often done to hide the fact that it is stolen, and no one was seriously injured which is the ultimate goal in each encounter,” read a statement posted on the Brooklyn Center Police Department’s Facebook page.
Court records show Valentino has five previous felony convictions including robbery, threats of violence, first-degree burglary, domestic assault and drug crimes.
