Can Do Canines Opens to Public, Welcomes Back Volunteers
New Hope nonprofit Can Do Canines welcomed back volunteers into its facility with cheers and dogs, of course. The volunteers were just as excited to be back.
“It means so much to see people regain their freedom, to some extent, by using their dogs. If we can even be a small part of that,” said Margo Barder, volunteer. “We’re just dog walkers. To be able to be a small part of that, makes a huge difference.”
The building re-opened to staff on June 1, and volunteers came back the next day.
Can Do Canines currently has 25 dogs in training and relies on volunteers to walk and care for them in the afternoons. The dogs will go to people with disabilities.
