Brooklyn Park School Celebrates Graduation with 52-Car Parade
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Brooklyn Park celebrated eighth-grade graduates with a 52-car parade Tuesday evening. The rain didn’t stop school and parish staff from donning spirit wear and waving to show support and congratulations to students.
So why 52 cars? There are 52 graduates in the eighth-grade class.
“I don’t think they’ll forget this graduation ever. This is a very special time and this group is very resilient in all they’ve had to navigate,” said principal Maggie Dawson. “We’ve tried to be there for them as much as we could. It was important to create a sense of community even though everyone was separated. That’s what we are hoping to do tonight is to remind them that God is good and we are all here to support them.”
