Brooklyn Park Police Investigate Two Weekend Shootings
Brooklyn Park police are investigating two weekend shooting cases, one of which resulted in serious injuries.
On Saturday night police responded to the Huntington Place apartments, 5849 73rd Ave. N., where a man had been shot.
When officers arrived at around 7:20 p.m., they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers provided lifesaving treatment before paramedics arrived to transport the man to a nearby hospital.
A search of the area did not locate the shooter. There were no further updates from Brooklyn Park police Monday afternoon.
Vehicle Struck by Gunfire
On Sunday night, Brooklyn Park police responded to multiple calls of gunfire in a residential neighborhood.
Officers recovered evidence of gunshots near 75th and Jersey avenues shortly before 9 p.m. A 911 call then alerted police of a vehicle that had been struck by bullets.
Police located the vehicle and met with the occupants who were not injured. A preliminary investigation revealed some sort of relationship between the shooter and the people in the vehicle.
“At this time, it appears that the victim and the suspects may be known to each other, suggesting that this was not a random act,” read a police statement Sunday night.
The investigation continued Monday with no arrests announced.
