Brooklyn Center Police Investigate Second Carjacking in 48-hour Span
Brooklyn Center police are investigating a weekend carjacking, the second such case in a 48-hour span in the city.
According to police, officers responded shortly after 10:45 p.m. Saturday to the Carrington Apartments on the 1300 block of 69th Avenue North for a car theft report. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a woman who says she was held up at knifepoint by three people wearing masks, police said.
“One of the suspects had a knife and told her to ‘give up everything she had,'” read an incident report sent to CCX News.
Police say the robbers took the woman’s car keys and cell phone and fled in the victim’s car. The victim sustained minor injuries as she fell backing away from the robbers, police said.
Two nights before, another carjacking occurred about a quarter mile away, that one at gunpoint. The victim in that case was also a woman. No arrests have been made in either case.
