Animal Humane Society Volunteer Turns 100
Charlotte Beegle celebrated her 100th birthday at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley on Tuesday. She has volunteered at the nonprofit for more than 30 years and doesn’t plan to stop any time soon.
Beegle used to walk dogs, but now she alphabetizes files and helps in the office.
Not only does Beegle enjoy the animals, she enjoys the people too.
“I think this was my salvation coming here and meeting this nice group of people,” said Beegle, who lives alone.
Beegle is passionate about adopting animals, as she kept trying to get people at the party to adopt the kitten she was holding.
She couldn’t take the kitten home because she already has a cat named Eddie, who came from the Animal Humane Society.
