New Hope Village Golf Course Ready to Host Your Next Special Event
Golf at New Hope Village Golf Course opened for the season on March 1, and there was plenty of business at the nine-hole city-owned course for the first weekend. But staff inside have been very busy also booking spots for leagues to play this summer and fall.
Recreation Facilities Manager Mark Severson said the course is mainly used for leagues and is known for its recreational and fun environment. But city leaders hope residents also keep the course in mind for special events, which can be booked year-round in the clubhouse and the adjoining patio.
“We like to say it fits probably 60 to 70 fairly comfortably,” Severson said of the clubhouse’s dining room, which is normally the 19th hole and snack shop. “You know, people just don’t want to have it at home. You know, they’ve got to clean the house, and people have got to park in the street, if it’s snowy and winter time, it’s just a great place that’s always taken care of and accessible to everybody.”
Severson said guests have access to video monitors, a fire place, and refrigeration space along with counter space that is easily converted into a buffet-style table for food.
Just down the hall, the covered patio area where golf carts are normally parked also has more than a dozen picnic tables and barbecue grills ready for your next graduation or birthday party.
“ It’s a nice spot where people can come and go, and yet it’s covered,” said Severson.
The course, located on Bass Lake Road, is centrally located and, according to Severson, its rates are rather affordable.
“It’s a great place to be able to offer this to the residents and to the other users to be able to get people into the city to see what the city has to offer,” he said.
