Mayor’s Minutes: Robbinsdale’s Bill Blonigan
Robbinsdale Mayor Bill Blonigan talked with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser recently about a busy start to what will be a busy new year in the city.
Blonigan announced the city had recently hired a new sustainability coordinator, and he encouraged the public to get involved in helping Robbinsdale meet various sustainability goals.
“We’re looking for citizen volunteers to join our energy action team,” he said. Those interested can find more information on the city’s website here.
Like most other cities, Robbinsdale is now charging all customers for organics recycling pick-up. Blonigan encourages everyone to participate.
“As long as you’re paying for it,” he said. “Help your grandchildren and grandchildren by limiting your footprint on the earth.”
Blonigan also touched on his recent decision to step away after more than 40 years on city council. He announced last week he will not seek re-election later this year.
“I’ve enjoyed the honor of representing (Robbinsdale),” he said.
