Mayor’s Minutes: New Hope’s Kathi Hemken
New Hope Mayor Kathi Hemken spoke recently with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser about the city’s new expanded public works facility and fall golfing, among other topics.
The expansion at New Hope Public Works was officially opened last month.
The city finished a 20,000-square foot expansion on the public works facility earlier this fall, and held a ribbon cutting on October 30.
“When we built the new city hall and pool, we promised our residents we would not bond again for ten years,” said Hemken. “We knew we needed to do the public works building. We did it in two phases.
“Public works is so happy,” she said. “It’s beautiful.”
Golf in the Fall
New Hope Village Golf Course is open and Hemken said fall is the perfect time to tee it up.
“It’s absolutely beautiful. The greens are lovely. The trees are changing,” she said. “Because there’s no leagues going on now, it’s easier to get a tee time, but keep in mind it gets dark early.”
