Mayor’s Minutes: Plymouth’s Jeff Wosje
Plymouth Mayor Jeff Wosje recently spoke with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser about the new fire station in the city, as well as upcoming performances at the Hilde Performance Center.
New Fire Station 2
Earlier this month, the city held a hose de-coupling ceremony (think: ribbon cutting) at the new Fire Station 2.
The re-built station (on the same site) now has capability for firefighters to stay overnight during 12-hour shifts.
“The previous fire station was never designed to have people there 24/7,” explained Mayor Wosje. “It was 50-60 years old, anyway, so it had run its lifespan, so we just scraped it, and rebuilt a new one.”
Hilde Summer Performances
Wosje also talked about upcoming performances at the city’s amphitheater, the Hilde Performance Center.
Live at the Hilde is put on by a private promoter, and will feature two big-name acts on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27.
Dawes, featuring Ber will perform on Friday night, followed by Big Head Todd and the Monsters the following night.
“That weekend is a big music weekend for Plymouth,” said Wosje.
More information about the shows is here.
The city is also hosting free concerts at the Hilde, as part of its Hilde Nights series.
Gen X Jukebox performs on Friday, July 19, and The Tim Sigler Band and Chris Kroeze will perform on Friday, August 23.
Anyone headed to the Hilde is reminded of road construction on Plymouth Boulevard all summer and should check out plymouthmn.gov/plymouthblvd for the very latest on conditions and detours.
