Maple Grove Mayor Mark Steffenson recently provided a promising development update regarding the gravel mining area, expressing the city’s enthusiasm for attracting high-paying jobs.
Steffenson revealed that multiple medical technology companies and a defense company are showing interest in establishing a presence in the area.
“Everyone’s seen all the trees being cut down, that is a big new project involving their defense contractor that is bringing all their engineers and other entities to Maple Grove,” Steffenson said
The mayor announced that a groundbreaking ceremony is imminent.

Exciting developments are underway at Gleason Fields as construction progresses to introduce state-of-the-art baseball and softball fields, catering to the sports enthusiasts in the community.
Meanwhile, the surging popularity of pickleball has prompted the addition of new pickleball courts at Lakeview Knowles, creating a hub for people of all ages to partake in the popular activity.

With a mission to elevate the city’s profile, Experience Maple Grove actively participates in community events such as Maple Grove Days, working to enhance the quality of these occasions.
Mayor Steffenson acknowledges the organization’s valuable contribution, stating their commitment to supporting the city in organizing exceptional events.
“They’re involved in Maple Grove Days and they’re really out there to try and help us as a city put on better events,” said Steffenson.
It’s also worth noting that Juneteenth, a significant commemoration, holds a special place in the city of Maple Grove, with celebrations scheduled for June 19.
