Maple Grove, Hennepin County Sending Out Important Information About Home Values, Tax Payments
Maple Grove residents and business owners should soon be receiving notices both from the city and Hennepin County regarding how much their property is valued and how much property tax they owe.
City value notices will begin going out to mailboxes on March 21. Hennepin County property tax statements will also be going out.
Reach Out With Questions
City Assessor Markus Yager encourages anyone who has questions about how the city assesses property values to call his office at 763.494.6250.
“First step is to call and talk through (the process),” said Yager. “There may be a reason why we have a value that’s correct or not correct, but really the first step is calling us.”
He said anyone who wants to continue the appeals process can then attend the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting at Maple Grove City Government Center on April 16 at 7:00 p.m.
“That meeting on April 16 is people’s opportunities to appeal if we disagree after talking to us,” said Yager.
County Resources
He said you can also find information on the county statement about whom to contact for questions about your property tax bill.
“If you have any questions about your property taxes or your valuation, we definitely are open to questions and walking you through the process, so that everyone is informed and everyone feels good about where we’re at with what we have,” said Yager.
