Dog Micrcochipping Event in Brooklyn Park Helps Dog Owners Comply With New Ordinances
Brooklyn Park police and city leaders want to make it slightly easier for some families to afford the most accurate ways to identify dogs and their owners in the city.
In light of new city ordinances after several dog attacks last summer, Inspector Toni Weinbeck with the Brooklyn Park Police Department is partnering to offer a reduced-cost dog microchipping event on May 3. Limited spots are available.
“As long as we have a way to identify who the owner is, that is what we’re most concerned with, especially with those animals at large,” said Weinbeck. “We are working on enforcement but we also want to make sure that we’re providing opportunities for our community to get things they need to at a low cost as well.”
