Brooklyn Park’s River Park Fest Seeks to Showcase City Amenities
Brooklyn Park’s newest event in its on-going Celebrate! Brooklyn Park program aims to bring people to the edge of the Mississippi River to celebrate and enjoy all River Park has to offer.

Brooklyn Park’s River Park Fest is a first-year event designed to draw people to the amenities of the riverfront area.
River Park Fest is Saturday, June 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“There’s going to be some really great ways to recreate in the park that day, from biking to paddling and things like that, but also nature art activities,” said City of Brooklyn Park Community Events Specialist Amanda Beisch. “Paper Plains is going to come out and lead an invasive species walk and identification, and then do paper making. And there’s going to be nature journaling and fire building and other fun activities like that.”
Beisch said the goal is to get people to the park if they haven’t been before.
“There’s lots of different ways you can get to River Park, not just in your car. So, you can paddle from Mississippi Gateway, but you can also bike or walk on our regional trail system to River Park,” she said. “We really wanted to highlight the multitude of ways you can recreate in our parks system, and hopefully set people up for success to continue visiting our parks throughout the summer and enjoying the amenities there.”
