Brooklyn Center’s Mayor’s Minutes: Citizen Engaged in Strategic Planning Process
Mayor April Graves sat down with Dave Kiser to talk about the strategic planning process.
“We’ve been meeting over the last few months for a strategic plan and this is the first time we’ve invited community members to be part of the planning process,” said Graves.
The mayor also said the city conducted a community survey and used results in the strategic planning process too. The survey was conducted for the first time since 2017, and results showed 77 percent of people felt like the quality of life is good or excellent in the city and 90 percent said they were proud to live in Brooklyn Center.
Mayor Graves also discussed the recent community health fair, which she said was well attended and expanded from recent years.
“I was excited that the event continues to grow and we were able to provide resources in our community,” said Graves.
Nominations are now open for the annual Random Acts of Kindness awards.
“It’s a way for people to recognize community members who s how up for them and do nice things everyday. It’s a way to recognize the leaders who aren’t always visible in our city,” said Graves.
