Along for the Ride: The Vitals App

Plymouth Sergeant Angela Haseman and Community Relations Officer Jim Long of the Plymouth Police Department explain what the Vitals app is, who can benefit from using it and how it helps police officers when they are out on calls. The Vitals app is a way to improve interactions between law enforcement and people living with visible and invisible conditions, such as a mental illness or disability. It does so by providing real time, critical information about vulnerable individuals, including personalized de-escalation techniques and behavior triggers. It’s a voluntary, opt in program which allows individuals or caregivers to register for Vitals online and supply that relevant information to law enforcement.
