Hopkins Girls Basketball Beats Maple Grove for State Title
The Hopkins girls basketball team pulled away to beat Maple Grove 81-67 to win the state class AAAA title Saturday night.
It’s the ninth championship in program history for the Royals. Maple Grove was making its first championship game appearance.
The Royals were efficient all night offensively, hitting 58% from the floor.
Sophomore post player Erma Walker had 28 points on 13-for-15 shooting for Hopkins.
Jaliyah Diggs had 15 points and seven assists for the Royals as five Hopkins players reached double figures in scoring.
Jordan Ode had 26 points and 12 rebounds to wrap up a stellar career for Maple Grove.
