West Lutheran’s Josh Nelson Finishes 2nd at State Alpine
West Lutheran High School junior Josh Nelson finished second Wednesday at the state Alpine ski meet in Biwabik.
Nelson had race runs of 36.52 and 36.04 seconds for a combined time of 1:12:56 and just missed on winning state, finishing 31-hundredths of a second behind champion Adam Berghult of Edina.
Nelson finished in 8th place at the 2020 state meet and 16th place last year.
Diego Adair of Benilde-St. Margaret’s also had a top-10 finish, placing 10th. BSM’s Grace Horejsi was the top local girls finisher, placing fourth.
