West Lutheran Girls Basketball Rolls into Section 4A Final
The West Lutheran girls basketball team fell behind 9-0 to start their Section 4A semifinal against Hope Academy Tuesday.
That was long forgotten in the end, as West Lutheran piled up the points on the way to a 96-49 win to advance to Friday’s section final.
The Warriors’ dynamic duo of Marissa Tusler and Veda Makepeace lit up the scoreboard.
Tusler had 23 points in the first half and 38 for the game.
Makepeace had seven three-pointers, scoring 21 in the first half and 36 total.
It’s the 20th win of the season for West Lutheran.
They meet top seed Mayer Lutheran in the Section 4A final Friday at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
The Warriors lost twice to Mayer Lutheran during the regular season.
