West Lutheran Falls Short in 4A Girls Basketball Final
The West Lutheran girls basketball team reached the section final for the first time in 18 years, but lost the Section 4A championship game to Mayer Lutheran 64-45.
The Warriors (20-9) were making a bid for their first state tournament appearance.
Mayer Lutheran (25-5) was the top seed in the section. Hallie Hunter scored 24 points to lead the Crusaders.
Juliet Roeber and Marissa Tusler scored 14 points each for the Warriors.
Mayer Lutheran plays Sleepy Eye in the Class A state quarterfinals on Thursday.
