Wayzata’s Riley Leatherman Wins 2024 Minnesota Mr. Baseball Award
The top senior baseball player in the state was awarded earlier this week with Wayzata’s righthanded pitcher Riley Leatherman winning the 2024 Mr. Minnesota Baseball honor.
This spring, Leatherman was a perfect 7-0 in games he started and had a 1.54 ERA. He helped lead the Trojans to a perfect regular season record along with being Lake Conference and Section 6AAAA champions.
Leatherman will continue his baseball career at the University of North Carolina and already is at Chapel Hill taking summer courses and training with the UNC baseball team.
Leatherman joins Stella Swenson and Jackson McAndrew as Wayzata student-athletes who earned the honor of top players in the state in their sports.
