Wayzata’s McCollor and Trojan Boys Win State Nordic Titles
It was a good day for local skiers at the state Nordic ski meet Thursday in Biwabik. Wayzata junior Mara McCollor held her lead from the freestyle race in the second race of the day, the classic, to capture the state girls pursuit title.
Armstrong’s Luci Anderson placed fifth. Lauren McCollor of Wayzata (16th) and Mae Barnes of Armstrong (19th) also made the top 20.
The Wayzata boys had three of the top five placers: Anders Sonnesyn (2nd), Luc Golin (3rd), and James Schneider (5th).
That helped the Trojans to edge Stillwater by two points for the team championship.
