Wayzata Wrestling Set for Another Tournament Test
The Wayzata wrestling team has faced some tough competition early this season, and this weekend presents another tough challenge.
The Trojans wrestle Friday and Saturday at the long-running Minnesota Christmas Tournament in Rochester.
They already have wrestled at the Dan Gable Donnybrook against stiff competition in Iowa, where they placed 17th, and at the Ethan Herman tournament in Chanhassen, placing second.
The Trojans also lost a dual to top-ranked St. Michael-Albertville.
Wayzata is rated sixth in class AAA and has two top-ranked individuals: Logan Swensen and Charlie Petit.
After the Minnesota Christmas tournament, the Trojans will be off from competition until the Cheesehead Tournament in Wisconsin January 5-6.
